Newsletter Week 9 Term 2 / Pānui Wiki 9 Whāhanga 2

Ngā mihi o Matariki!

Wow, only 7 days of school left for the term! It has gone fast! We look forward to Dean Isherwood starting as Deputy Principal next term. He will work alongside Clara Mapley who is Assistant Principal. We will hold an official welcome for him at 9.30am on Monday 26 July. You are welcome to come along but please RSVP to the office. shelley@stannes.co.nz

With this we wish Miss Garbes well for her study leave and look forward to her return in term 4.

Today
Like yesterday, Miss Mapley and Mr Halkett need to leave school by 3pm to run Professional Development for 15 schools. If you need to catch up with them, Thursday would be appreciated. I (Dallas) will need to leave earlier than this also.

Tagalog
We are looking for an online learning tool for Tagalog. The app (Languagenut) we have used in the past said they would like to add Tagalog to their platform but are after a clear speaker to assist in adding it. If you would like to assist with this (have your voice recorded as a model), please let me know and I will pass on your details. principal@stannes.co.nz

Reports
Senior reports are out at the end of next week. We will also send with them, how to book for Learning Conferences (held early next term). Room 7 caregivers, please note, as you the students will have a new teacher for the remainder of the year, students will be sharing learning, next steps etc. with caregivers and Dean! He will have up to date data but will be a good time to learn more about the student and caregivers and vice versa.

Uniform
What a difference! Thank you to all parents reminding and checking only correct uniform comes to school. It is much appreciated. A reminder that PE uniform is essential tomorrow. Please be ready for Hagley Sport. Those playing grass sports, rugby boots are a must. It is so slippery out there!

Gate
Thank you to those who have been making an effort to close this after using. It has been shut every time I have walked past lately. Great!

Ski Trip
This has been postponed due  to lack of snow at Porters. We have a back up day of Wednesday 7 July (a week today) and a further back up of Monday 2 August (next term). We should know on Monday if Wednesday is looking possible.

Basketball Champions
Last, but not least, well done to our team ‘Ngā Hato’ (The Saints) for winning the Cowles Tournament this term. A great effort! Also, thank you to Leroy and Penny for being there every week as coaches.

God bless,
Dallas Wichman
