Kia ora koutou
To start this newsletter, I would like to acknowledge Miss French. In her last year of teaching, she has allowed me to take study leave. Many could have said no, but she supported me and took on the extra stress management entails. I am grateful for her covering for me. She really gives her all for this school! She has sound judgment and makes wise decisions. Thanks again Cathy!
It is great to be back after almost three months away. For those that missed the memo, I have been studying with Ngāi Tahu in a full immersion environment. It has reminded me of what it is like to be a learner and a second language learner. It is exciting to know two of our teachers have been accepted on the programme next year also. It is my hope that all will go through it. Applicants must be at a reasonably high Māori language level to be accepted (20 per year from all of Christchurch) so is exciting our teachers meet the grade.
Keep smiling everyone! Dropping off and picking our children up is harder than normal, but if we put this in perspective as to what others face in the world, it is nothing. Be kind and show our faith through your actions and words.
I have missed you all! Thank you for the warm welcome back!
REMINDER: Term 4 is summer uniform. NO Hat, NO Play policy will be in place from now. Track pants and fleeces are not summer uniform items. If you have any concerns please contact the office. thanks.
