THE WASHING MACHINE
With one week left we have a lot to get through. This week we have our X country / GRIT challenge. We call it our GRIT challenge as it takes a lot of courage and perseverance to get through our ones. This is because we make them so challenging. You might recall our mud themed one and our climbing / scaffolding one. This year’s theme is ‘The Washing Machine’. It is a little bit of a secret what is involved but senior students will need to wear PE uniform on Thursday and juniors can wear sports mufti. This means appropriate clothing for running (it could be a little muddy but it is NOT a ‘mud run’ this year). Still, don’t wear your best clothes Juniors.
Seniors -2pm sharp
Juniors-2.25pm
Spectators welcome. If it is raining, it will still be on. If freezing cold, it will be optional. Spectators can watch from under the verandahs.
LEARNING CONFERENCES / REPORTS
Mid year reports for years 4-8 will come out week 1 of term 3 due to the lockdown. Learning conferences will be held week 2 on Wednesday 29th July and Thursday 30th July. These are to be booked on our school app. Go to our app on any phone, click on parent interviews and choose your time. Please only book one time per teacher. Teachers will speak about reports, students will share learning and goals for the rest of the year.
EARLY FINISH
Senior classes (Rooms 5, 6, 7) will finish at 12.30pm on Wednesday 29 July due to these interviews. Juniors will be class as normal. If you can not organise supervision of your child, they will be supervised in the library until the end of the school day.
FEES
We are fee free, however not for camp and extra clothing for ski trip. If you have not paid these, please do so as soon as possible. It is all we ask for at this school.
ABSENTEES
Please remember to let us know if your child is sick. Do this through our app. or call us. Please do this BEFORE 9am. If they are away for two days straight, let us know this too. This is important as it is wasting so much time in the office with Shelley or myself chasing absentees up.
STEVE THOMAS
For those lucky enough to meet or have Steve help a child, you will know he is amazing. Steve has been at our school on a Wednesday for years. He is a social worker in schools and helps children with all sorts of things. It is his last day on Wednesday. If you see him around, say goodbye and thanks. He will be missed.
One week to go! A special newsletter will be out later in the week.
