CULTURAL FESTIVAL –              

 As you read this, we will have finished our performance for another year.  If you went to the performance, we hope you enjoyed the product of all of our hard work.  Unlike most schools, we allow all ages in our group. It can make the younger ones a little harder to see mixed between the bigger ones and harder work in practices but we feel students should get cultural experiences at any age should they be motivated to do it.  It was great to see Theresa out there on the guitar, what courage! We thank Judi Parker for another year, planning and organising the group and the festival. What a great job you do. Thank you to our year 7/8 students for stepping up and leading everything. Thank you to Hazel Harnett-Garbes and Clara Mapley for their assistance in running the group.  And to all the parents getting students up early, sorting uniforms and doing hair, well done to you!

 If you don’t use it already then download ‘Google translate’ and set Māori to English (or whatever you need).  Push ‘camera’ and hold it above the text your reading. It will change it in front of your eyes. Also, you can cut and paste if you can’t read the Facebook posts in Māori and paste into this app.

BASKETBALL – We have two teams in the Cowles Tournament on Thursdays.  It is their last game on Thursday. They have been amazing over the past two terms and have improved in every game.  A big thank you to Mike for coaching one of the teams and Penny for training them for most of the season. Good luck to the teams for the last game!

KORU GAMES – Our year 7/8 students will be competing in the SI champs next week.  All the best to them. Keep an eye on Facebook. We have won four titles in the last three years in volleyball.  Hopefully we can add to these this year. 

MUSIC PERFORMANCE FROM THOSE LEARNING FROM MRS A’S MUSIC SCHOOL –  At this stage, students will be performing pieces in either the Friday Mass (just three groups) on the last day of the term or at a prayer service at 2pm on that last day.  We will give more information next week.
