Kia ora koutou,
Can you believe we are basically half way through the term! It is flying by. There are amazing things happening at school. The term’s work is exciting with a huge focus on physical education and wellbeing.
Whilst there is a fair amount of worry in the community, a massive thank you to parents for being vigilant about not sending students who are sick, many are vaccinated, many are masked, ventilation is a focus and lots of hygiene practices are happening. We only have outdoor assemblies and are following all the guidelines. I hope you had a chance to read the last notice also. We will inform you if we have a case in the class of your child but please understand, we must respect privacy.
Reminders / Expectations for parents and caregivers – (from previous expectations)
Please remain ‘offsite’. This request is from our BOT and the government, to limit contact in school. For us, due to safety of Ferry Road, this is the cones. The only exemption is parents of 5 year olds or those with children with heightened anxiety. For these parents please remain outside of rooms. THIS WON’T BE FOREVER! Any other reasons for coming on site, please call the office first 03 3843 073.
If you one of your family members (mums, dads, aunties, uncles, cousins) are exempt from mask wearing, please ensure they do not come on site during the times of 8.30am-9.15am, 10.40-11am, 12.30pm-1.20, 2.40pm-3.15pm to limit contact with children other than your own. Obviously, as above, call in advance if a meeting is needed or you need to come on site at any other time.
Isolation Packs
Early next week, your children will receive an isolation pack. We are aiming to put roughly 10 days work in there. We understand that online work can be difficult and this was appreciated last year. This pack should be sealed and not opened unless you need it for isolation. It is not an ‘extra work pack’. It is hard to plan, teach and assess all day and then try to find extra time to do the same for one or two isolating so this way we lower the stress levels of parents and teachers!! Note: These would have been earlier, but as you can imagine, over 160 hardpacks of 10 days work is burning through paper and ink.
IF YOUR CHILD IS ALREADY ISOLATING DUE TO A FAMILY MEMBER PLEASE CONTACT YOUR TEACHER AND THEY WILL HELP UNTIL THE PRINTING IS FINISHED AND THEN WE WILL DELIVER TO YOUR LETTERBOX.
Hopefully you won’t need them, but if you do, they are there. They are not for children if they are unwell! We aren’t that mean!
Photo: These are both the ‘GRIT’ winners and certificate winners from today’s assembly. GRIT winners will catch up with me on Monday! The video of assembly is here https://youtu.be/jqKX9SneqCw
It was still processing when this was posted so you may need to check back later if it doesn’t work.
Remember, ‘Called to be Peacemakers’ this Lent!
Kia pai te wīkene!
