Newsletter Week 8 Term 2 / Panui Wiki 8 Whāhanga 2

Ngā mihi o Matariki!

It has been another  busy week at school and it is getting worse over the last 10 days of the wāhanga. Lots to get through. This week and next week’s newsletter will pretty much keep you updated with what is going on. Many of our staff are involved in some Professional Development offsite next week on Tuesday and Wednesday so they will be leaving school with the children at 2.50pm. If you need to talk to teachers please see them before school on these two days or via email/Seesaw. Thanks for your help here.

Uniform
Please can you check your child is coming to school with correct uniform only. Non uniform beanies, jerseys, gloves etc are not allowed. We have school beanies, hats, jerseys and jackets available for purchase. Also, if your child is involved in Hagley sport, we have been asked by the organisers not to allow students to play unless in the correct team uniform. Our uniform is our PE gear. Please ensure they have this on a Thursday. That is PE top and black shorts. If your student plays rippa, rugby boots are a good option as is always slippery there.
I HAVE ASKED TEACHERS ONLY TO CONSIDER THOSE IN CORRECT UNIFORM DAILY FOR THE END OF TERM GRIT TRIP, MAYBE REMIND YOU CHILD ABOUT THIS!

Gate
Thank you to those who have been making an effort to close this after using. It has been shut every time I have walked past lately. Great!

Mass on Saturday Night 6pm
Room 6 and 7 are helping and are involved in the Mass on Saturday night. Please make an effort to get them there. Thank you for your support.

Welcome
A big welcome to Arani who has started in Room 5 and Ethan who starts in Room 2 on Monday.

Snow
We are hoping for snow so our ski trip can go ahead but what if it snows to sea level? Hard to think about this today as it is so hot BUT the forecast for Monday looks cold. If the weather should ever get worse and it looks unsafe to open school, you  will have many avenues to check. The most important is Skool Loop notices! It may not have beeped on your phone so check there first. We will advise what is happening with as much warning as possible. After putting notices here, we will then move to Facebook and if possible, text message.

God bless,
Dallas Wichman
