Kia ora koutou,
It is with some relief that I email without a cast on. For years I have thought that I have never broken a bone due to drinking so much milk. After doing some research, my milk theory seems misguided. Apparently bone strength is the same with or without milk as long as you have a healthy diet and participate in weight-bearing activities.
I spent a few days in Room 7 last week relieving for Mrs Parker. We looked at ‘theories’ and the latest research on what is ‘healthy’ and the best things for us, anything from sleep to superfood to MILK. Interesting how social media and television advertisements can misguide us at times, especially when famous people endorse it. Let’s not be fooled.
This term we have a focus on science in school. We hope the students enjoy investigating various things within their classrooms.
Next term we are looking towards a production which will be exciting also.
A few reminders from me:
• New parents meeting on Friday. We have a welcome, followed by refreshments by Chef Astig for us to enjoy during the meeting.
• Wednesday (note day change) for our Years 5-8 Enduro Challenge next week to be held at Ferrymead. For more information, go to the Skool loop calendar and click on Wednesday 11 March.
Kia ora rawa atu koutou to those who have made the Learning Conferences so far and those who will be coming tomorrow. It is a great way for parents in the senior school to meet the teachers and look at some work by their children.
Mā te wā!
