Pōwhiri and new to school meeting—Save the date: Friday 6 March 9am—11am!
Any student who has started St Anne’s this year, Terms 3 or 4 last year, or, is due to start in Term 1 or 2 this year, will be welcomed to the school this day. Because our students usually start on their 5th birthday, it is hard to do a formal welcome on the day they start. Families are invited, encouraged and expected to attend with them if possible, especially the active guardians. The pōwhiri (welcome) will be around 30 minutes. Following this, all parents/caregivers attending are asked to stay for the ‘new to school’ meeting. Please could you email principal@stannes.co.nz to confirm you are coming and how many will be attending? It is not really suitable for preschoolers but if you cannot get supervision, bring them along as we don’t want you to miss this.
During this we will cover how the school works, all the ins and outs, so you will be ‘up with the play.’ We welcome all questions during this meeting. We will have representatives from the BOT, Kidsbase, staff, parish and the Mission Sisters to help you understand our school. Please try to get one parent there if possible (hence we have given as much warning as possible).
